Concussion Number “I’ve Lost Count”!

My original blog for today will be postponed by a day or so while I recover from a concussion (the true recovery will take much longer, but right now my head is increasingly more painful than it was a few hours ago.). It was 100% my fault. Don’t ask me why I think I can walk around in the dark and not hit anything, because I always hit something. Usually it’s my leg or my knee on the edge or the foot of the bed, leaving behind all kinds of attractive bruises. Late last night, it ended up being the corner of the top of my armoire meeting the left side of my head in a very scary way. I didn’t scream because it was late and I didn’t want to wake my neighbors, but I feel so much more stupid about it today, because as the day has progressed, so too has the pain.

Thus, I’m relaxing on the couch, catching up on some things I haven’t had the time or the patience to watch, and icing my head. Sounds thrilling, I know. Pretty soon I’ll have to walk around the house in a glammed up hockey helmet.

Enjoy your evening everyone, and watch out for your furniture, you never know when it may attack!

P.S. Happy Beltane to my fellow Wiccans!

This happens to people all the time and it’s disgusting how these collection agencies treat you. It’s important to fight back. Check your credit report twice a year, request in writing to any company with incorrect info that the issue be removed. Continue to pursue it until you see it removed for yourself, for good.

My Own Stupidity

I may not be able to post anything major for the next few days, which upsets me as I have been preparing something pretty special.

I idiotically had an accident with a serrated knife yesterday afternoon. I was closing it after cleaning it and the serrated part went right into my thumb at an odd angle. I’ll spare you all of the truly scary parts, but it was definitely one of the more gruesome moments of stupidity in the life of a person who was once so graceful  and is now a certified klutz. I’m now re-thinking the fancy kitchen knives I have on my Wish List. (FYI, this was not a kitchen related incident.)

I’m slightly paranoid it’ll re-open, so I’m trying not to overdo it, but I’m hoping this won’t be an issue for more than a few days. Hope you’re all well and thanks to those who’ve sent me messages and left comments.

UPDATE 3/1/2013: Thankfully I did not require stitches or the coagulant in the first aid kit, but it was far deeper than I originally thought and even though it did re-open a few times, much to my own nausea, I am happy to say that it is almost completely healed. Thank God for huge Band-Aids  and Neosporin. When I win the lottery, I am investing in Neosporin since it has saved my life in so many ways over the years. With a lot of luck, this won’t even scar.
