“Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.” ―Maya Angelou
“If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough.” ―Meister Eckhart
*Feeling pretty grateful tonight that after the epic storm that blew through my area about 8:55 PM last night, power is now resorted and that apart from a damaged tree, everyone I love here is safe. I still don’t know for sure if a tornado touched down slightly, but my prayers go out to those that lost their homes to trees being ripped right out of the ground. Mother Nature means business! The wind was no fucking joke. I am going to take photos of my tree before letting a neighbor have the remnants for fire wood. In fact, he suggested he cut off parts of the tree out front as well, with Hurricane season upon us. I’m going to let him, it’s an enormous tree and I’d hate to see it hurt anyone.*
“Religion is like language or dress. We gravitate toward the practices with which we were raised. In the end, though, we are all proclaiming the same thing. That life has meaning. That we are grateful for the power that created us.” ―Dan Brown, Angels & Demons
Dare To Be
“When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.
Dare to be the best you can –
At all times, Dare to be!” ―Steve Maraboli
Marion, thank you for allowing me to DARE. XOXO.
