About Lisa/Contact Lisa

A true Scorpio, minus the jealousy because that’s not who I am, I am an experienced writer and editor with 20+ years worth of work applied in many different genres, predominantly sports, life, death, grief, & women’s issues. I was born & raised in The City That Never Sleeps. I bleed Rangers blue, with a huge splash of Yankees pinstripes.

I am hard at work on my first foray into fiction, a dark urban fantasy series steeped in history and mythology. I want it to be something that makes you laugh, makes you think, and takes you on an adventure. Only a truly good story with a fantastic cast of characters can do that. The whole idea is to be able to get lost in what you read and be sad when you’ve reached the end of each book.

I don’t write on command. I never have. I write because no one else has the same voice or point of view. I write the exact same way I speak. Writing was once the way I expressed my inner voice, until I learned that it was ok to say what I thought, that in fact, it was better to just say it and carry on.

I am real, snarky, hilarious, about as subtle as Thor’s Hammer, and politically incorrect & inappropriate 98% of the time. I’m not known for my patience or ability to tolerate drama, negativity, or people trying to change and/or covert me in any way. I have a religion, I’m not buying whatever it is you want to sell, and I know who I am. I will not apologize for who I am or for anything I think or say, unless I am truly in the wrong. I have no problem admitting my faults. I do not tolerate rudeness, arrogance, or people making assumptions.

If I’ve taken the time to comment on your blog, it is in a respectful manner. I don’t believe in wasting my time, nor do I believe in interacting with anyone that cannot respect or appreciate difference of opinion. If a person deletes your comment(s), is disrespectful to you, or accuses you of something you have not done and would never do, they’re a coward with a lot of issues. You will not find that with me. I will respond to you, even if it’s not immediate. I do read what you say.

I encourage you to read every single entry on this platform in order to get the full spectrum of what I am and what I bring to the table. It starts with ‘Welcome To The Madness’ and takes you on a journey of my observations, intellect, passions, charities I support, my love of music, cats, the moon, quotes, books, and a plethora of other things. I also share articles on a wide array of subjects. I warn you in advance that I have a deep, dark side that I own. I won’t fake it, I won’t smile and say I’m happy if I’m not, and I won’t pretend. I believe in being as authentic as humanly possible. I’m not hiding behind a computer, but just because I have a blog that anyone can read does not mean I am not entitled to my privacy. I do not, nor will I ever, encourage on-line stalking.

Please feel free to send me a message and chat with me about anything and everything, learn more about me, my writing, and other projects I am currently involved in, as well as things I am most passionate about. I will respond to e-mails and messages, but if I miss a message, please don’t think I am ignoring you. I’m not, but I am a bit scatter-brained at times thanks to Fibromyalgia brain fog.

If you like the quality of writing you see on this blog and would like to hire me to write or blog for you, kindly send me a message or leave a comment on any of my posts and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I will respond to all requests. I’m 100% open to guest-blogging upon request, however I recommend you ask me well in advance, as opposed to asking me if you have a deadline. I can only do deadlines when I’m being paid. I’m not being a bitch, I’m being honest. I’ve always worked for myself because deadlines and I do not mesh.

You may contact me at BlckbirdSerenity@aol.com. Please put a subject in the subject line to avoid hitting my spam filters, which are automatically deleted. Messages might still hit my spam filters, so if you send me a message and don’t hear from me within a week, leave a comment here, which I WILL see relatively quickly. That will let me know to check my e-mail.

Imitation may be the greatest form of flattery, but if my copyrighted work (which includes ANY personal photos, all of which are copyrighted to me unless otherwise noted.) is published anywhere without my consent, you’ll find out I can be extremely unpleasant.

Please ASK before re-blogging anything you see here. It irritates me, it is common courtesy, and every time it happens, especially when I am not asked, it feels like someone is stealing a little piece of something that I took time to do. If it is my own work, of which I own all the copyrights, I will immediately request it be removed if you do not ask and post my copyright notice. Do not be shocked if you see that I have deleted your reblog and/or not approved it. Ask first and we’re fine, if you don’t ask and I don’t know you, it will not show up on your page as soon as I’ve seen what you’ve done. Try manners first and foremost with me.

All music, videos, photos, and quotes are 100% credited to their creators. My own photos are covered under my own copyrights. Absolutely no profit is being made off of these. If I have inadvertently posted a photo that belongs to you and you want credit or want it removed, simply send me a message and it will come down, no questions asked and absolutely no infringement intended EVER.

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog. Be in touch. Browse through the category sections,
I feel you may find something of your interest.

  2. I wish you lived next door. Although two snarky and hilarious women in one neighborhood might be a bit much. Thanks for following my blog. We actually started ours around the same time. Looking forward to reading more of your posts. 🙂

    • I swear that’s one of the nicest things anyone has EVER said to me. My own neighbors ignore me like the plague, unless they want something or want to do the suburban kvetch. I’m polite and I’ll say hello, but I can’t get into the drama.

You’ve got my contact info. Just e-mail me whenever you want to chat outside of the blogosphere.

    • Thanks for checking it out. I’m always changing it up slightly.
I’m a very direct woman. Probably too direct in some respects, but I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about what others think of me. I know people will either like me or they won’t, and I don’t particularly care which one they choose. I’m very extreme, but I’m also quiet and laid back. I’m also supremely confident in regard to my work.

  3. Just found your blog today.. and I gotta say it looks pretty amazing! Your imagination combined with that writing style almost makes me swoon.. 😛 Keep up the good posts and I will be your attentive reader.

  4. Hi,

Healthline just launched a video campaign for bipolar disorder called “You’ve Got This” where bipolar patients can record a short video to give hope and inspiration to those recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

You can visit the homepage and check out videos from the campaign here: http://www.healthline.com/health/bipolar-disorder/youve-got-this

We will be donating $10 for every submitted campaign to To Write Love On Her Arms, so the more exposure the campaign gets the more the videos we’ll receive and the more Healthline can donate to research, support, and treatment programs for mental health disorders.

We would appreciate if you could help spread the word about this by sharing the You’ve Got This with friends and followers or include the campaign as a resource on your page: https://andthemoonseesall.wordpress.com/2014/04/04/growing-compassion-for-bipolar-disorder/

Please let me know if this is possible and if you have any questions. And, if you know anyone that would be interested in submitting a video, please encourage them to do so.
