People make false claims all the time… If they had the dignity to be truthful, then that takes the surprise of the attack.
Reminds me of this quote about being stabbed in the back that goes something along the lines of, “the person who is helping you take the knife out of your back, is just retrieving their property.”
I am actually writing a rather large piece where falseness in relationships and via the Internet comes up big time, but like you, I feel that people make false claims all the time. It’s extremely unattractive to me. I would rather a person be genuine than be lying to me or kissing my ass. There’s really no need for either.
I like that quote about a person helping you take the knife out of your back. It’s all too true. I often refer to that as “stabbing me from the front”.
