Red

Red

If you know me well, you know that I seriously despise the color red. I only wear it on race day or the day after a race has been won. I maybe wear red nail polish once every other year, if that. I don’t know exactly when my aversion to red began, but it repels me in a lot of ways. For me it’s a color that represents the exact opposite of this song, but, in a hypocritical sort of way, I still love this song.

He Who Does……

He Who Does…

“He who does not understand your silence will probably not understand your words.”
―Elbert Hubbard

I am a firm believer in not responding to people when they’ve shown me what they truly are. It lowers me to their level, a place I do not belong. Some people believe that if you don’t respond, and you’re silent, that it means they’re right. Sometimes it does, it depends on the individual situation, but if I don’t respond, it probably means something else entirely. Something I’m way too polite to say at the moment.

I was really inspired by this. It IS disgusting how women are publicly shamed for this, as if they’re doing something obscene (and I’m not talking about nursing your ten year old!). I know women who’ve been asked to leave places where they couldn’t have been more discrete about feeding their fussy newborns. The attitude that we should all “be at home” is so caveman-ish to me. I think this is an excellent video and I hope everyone will share it with mothers and friends.
