“Understanding the difference between healthy striving and perfectionism is critical to laying down the shield and picking up your life. Research shows that perfectionism hampers success. In fact, it’s often the path to depression, anxiety, addiction, and life paralysis.”  ―Brené Brown

  1. LOL. I really needed to read this today. I realized a crochet pattern I had written and published had a ( very small) error in it. You would have thought civilization as we now know it was going to cease to exist judging by how I felt! The pattern has been corrected and the people who downloaded notified and I see the sun came up today! There is a fine line between striving for excellence and perfectionism and that quote is apt. Persistence is my key!

    • I’m a perfectionist too, mostly about my work. If you ever see a spelling or grammar error on my page, you will eventually see it corrected because I’m totally OCD about that. When people send me things to edit and they have no idea where to put commas, and they’ve clearly never used a spell checker, it drives me insane. I’ve caught myself edting people as they talk to me, which is pretty bad. LOL.
