Very Inspiring Blogger Award Nomination

award

I was very surprised to receive this nomination, truly. I am touched that anyone has noticed my blog to the point where they’d nominate me for anything in regard to blogging. This is not my first nomination for an award, both came as a genuine shock. So in response to this one, I say thank you to Shaun from prayingforoneday.wordpress.com who nominated me for this award.

The Rules of this award:

1. Display the award logo on your blog. 2. Link back to the person who nominated you. 3. State 7 things about yourself. 4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them. 5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements

In following with the rules:

7 Things About Me:

#7- I would rather be considered smart, talented, & funny over pretty. However, there’s no rule against being all of the above.

#6-  I am the oldest female in a family that is predominantly male. Believe it or not, I know more about sports than most of them combined.

#5- I speak more than two languages, but I understand many more that I don’t speak well enough to get by on. The benefits of being raised in a bilingual home with close family friends that also spoke a second language.

#4-I cannot sit through a bad movie. If the dialogue is crap and the movie does nothing for me, I am quite verbal about it. I will mercilessly mock it for many years to come, much to the entertainment of many. I will forever roll my eyes when people speak of how fabulous it is and how many times they saw it. <rolling eyes right now just thinking about it!!>

I would like to get back the time I had to spend watching parts of The Social Network & ‘O Brother Where Art Thou. I am positive parts of my brain and soul died during the viewing of each of these films. I am relieved I am smart enough that I saw fit to turn both of them off, instead of waiting for it to “get good”. Who are we kidding here?!

I will only see something in the theater if it’s truly something I want to see. I refuse to pay to see what others deem popular, no matter how much money it makes, and if I don’t like the actors in it, forget it! The next movie I willingly plan on seeing is The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones in August 2013. Of late, everything else is getting a DVD or movie channel pass.

#3- I hate politics. It’s slimy, ass-backward, and brings out the worst in every day, average people. People always assume I’m a Democrat, until they see the NRA sticker, which is when they immediately assume I’m a Republican and start preaching their views to me. They don’t even let you speak, they just keep running their mouths until you either walk away or interrupt with a reason that you are now departing their presence. In actuality, I’m a registered Independent.

#2- Almost everything I own is blue or grey/silver. .

#1- If I wasn’t a writer, I’d be a make-up artist.

Here’s the part where I have to nominate 15 of my fellow bloggers for awards. I looked at a lot of different blogs, including ones I’ve never read before and did not follow until I got this nomination. There are many I did not get a chance to read and many more that I do not follow, but that doesn’t mean anyone is any less deserving. These, however, are my select choices, all for different reasons.

#1- Britt for fairytaleepidemic.wordpress.com

She was the very first person to nominate me for a Very Inspiring Blogger Award and was also one of the very first people to really make me feel welcome on the blogosphere. I think her writing is fantastic and that she’s a total doll. Yeah, I’m biased, but this girl is full of sass and talent.

#2- MustHaveBoxes

I adore make-up, skin care, & beauty products and this blog dissects all of the great beauty box subscriptions available from item to item with reviews and a final value amount of the box. It’s a fun read.

#3- sethsnap

Beautiful, intriguing, and thought provoking photography.

#4- shareenayaoub.wordpress.com

Entertaining and real.

#5- RamblingsOfABipolarWoman.wordpress.com

Honest and from the heart.

#6- Dontforgettofeedthebaby.wordpress.com

This one is real and makes me laugh.

#7- BloggingInAGrayArea.wordpress.com

This one is new to me.

#8- tuppershare.wordpress.com

Some great recipes here.

#9- nevercontrary.wordpress.com

This one is also new to me, but I loved it from the word go.

#10- The War In My Brain

This is so honest and genuine, plus Megan is extremely likeable.

#11- ltclifeonhigh,wordpress.com

I really like what Lillian has to say in a lot of her posts.

#12- disorderlychickadee.wordpress.com

#13- theresultsmayvary.wordpress.com

#14- Mookology.com

This one entertains me.

#15- ACaffeinatedBrunette.com

Thanks again to Shaun for the nomination. I sincerely hope it won’t be my last.

    • I do have this tendency, yes. I asked my best friend to watch a movie with me because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me, that it was truly terrible. People still act like it’s the greatest thing they’ve ever seen. She was on the floor laughing the entire time because I kept making comments and had commentary on all of the dialogue, as well as the truly poor acting throughout. She says I make TV shows and movies so much better than they actually are. I can’t help myself, I have no tolerance level for idiocy.
